Black above and black below
Blackness surrounds
Onyx night
Obsidian ocean, lit by
Stars above and stars below
Stars surround
Silver diamonds in the heaven
Flashes of aquamarine in the water
Stand on the bow
Languid humid air surrounds
A breeze lifts the hairs on my arms
And I shiver
Now slide into the inky sea
Engulfed, enclosed, enwrapped
Ocean surrounds
As if in a womb
The taste of salt on my lips
Eyes open, I see them sparkle
Scintillate like the stars above
Cerulean glitter set in ebony
Illuminate my body
Glide through the shimmers
Sparks surround
I know it’s science,
But it feels like magic
Now float, stars above and stars below
I gasp and giggle at it all
Inhale the saline air
And know that I too
Am a spark of dust and light
